Sarah Bonner

Senior International Trade Policy Specialist, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)

Sarah L. Bonner serves as the Senior International Trade Policy Specialist at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of International Trade. In this capacity, she ensures small businesses are adequately represented in bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations, helps resolve trade barriers, provides export promotion assistance, and trains on policies to advance small business trade.

Ms. Bonner has over 15 years of experience in international trade and policy, serving in multiple U.S. executive branch agencies, the private sector, and a U.S. industry association.  She has participated as a U.S. delegate in bilateral trade agreement negotiations, led on trade agreement compliance work, and supported activities to advance passage of free trade agreements. Bonner also completed a professional development rotation in SBA’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership. In the private sector, she led a global transaction support portfolio assisting teams in securing over $17.5 billion in sales, worked globally to help resolve complex international trade issues, and assisted in market entry strategies.

Ms. Bonner received an M.A. in International Trade Policy from George Mason School of Public Policy, and a B.A. in History from Boston College.   She has an Academy of WTO Law & Policy Certificate from the Institute of International Economic Law and has completed professional training at the GE Management Development Institute.
