eCommerce Day Africa

The most important event tour in Latin America in Digital Commerce arrives in Africa.

eCommerce Day Africa 2023 taking place September 20 – 22. This will be the first edition of eCommerce Day in Africa, made possible by the eCommerce Institute with the support of USAID, the Alliance for eTrade Development (“eTrade Alliance”), and the American Chamber of Commerce in Kenya (AmCham).

eCommerce DAY is the first event in the region focused on the development of digital commerce and the professionalization of the eCommerce ecosystem. This event is part of the eCommerce Day World Tour a series that started in Latin America 15 years ago and has grown to a successful set of activities covering 18 countries up to now, gathering the most important players and companies in the digital commerce business.

The event, with a similar dynamic and structure well proved in Latin America, will take place with face-to-face activities in Nairobi, and will have extended coverage to other countries in the region.

The goal of the event is to convene the premier ecommerce companies across the country, and Africa, for a series of panels, workshops, product showcasing, a startup competition, and networking, all to promote the growth of the digital economy. The event will have a specific focus on engaging Kenyan and African MSMEs on using ecommerce to grow their businesses and engage in cross-border digital trade.

About the eCommerce DAY Tour

eCommerce Day events have been taking place annually in Latin America and the Caribbean since 2007, with the aim of promoting the development of the Digital Commerce and Internet Business industry at a regional and global level and accelerating the incorporation of the online channel by companies and entrepreneurs who are key to the growth of the Digital Economy.

This inaugural event is part of the regional eCommerce Day 2023 Tour, which includes annual editions in Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Mexico. It has become a mandatory meeting point for major players and stakeholders in the Digital Economy in the region.

The eCommerce DAY Tour creates a space for the promotion and reflection on the importance of the impact that the Internet has produced and the new technologies in the life, work and business of people and businesses, allowing an improvement in the competitiveness of our economy and the reduction of the gap that separates our entrepreneurs, companies and professionals.

The eCommerce DAY is an eCommerce Institute initiative that has been carried out since 2008 in different countries of the region in conjunction with its local chapters and aims to promote an area where companies in the Internet business world can exchange experiences and solutions , also creating a collaboration channel for those interested in actively entering and taking advantage of the benefits of the Digital Economy.

eCommerce Day Africa is a global initiative from eCommerce Institute.

eCommerce Institute

The eCommerce Institute is a regional non-profit organization that develops and supports the Digital Economy in the different countries of Latin America with the objective of promoting initiatives that consolidate and promote the world of Internet business.

One of the main objectives is to weave an open network of entities and institutions at the regional level that enhance the initiatives of each of its members and the group.

Currently, the main institutions in the region that make possible the Digital Economy by promoting online business are part of this network, within which are National Chambers and Associations of Electronic Commerce or related to the Digital Economy in LATAM.

It With the vision of bringing Latin America to the world among its main initiatives are the elaboration of regional studies of the sector, the issuance of training to professionalize the industry, the eCommerce Day Tour with presence in 17 countries of America and active participation as a permanent member in international and multilateral organizations worldwide that work in the promotion and development of Electronic Commerce and Internet Business.
